Every child has something to say.
Spelling to Communicate (S2C) is a research-informed method that gives nonspeaking and minimally speaking individuals a way to share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas — one letter at a time.
What is S2C?
A new way to listen to your child
Spelling to Communicate (S2C) is a method that teaches individuals with motor challenges — including many autistic people and people with disabilities — to point to letters on a letterboard to communicate. It gives a voice to those who have been unable to speak or whose speech doesn't reflect their true understanding or intellect.
Many families describe S2C as the moment everything changed — the first time they truly heard what their child had been thinking all along.
How it works
A gentle, step-by-step journey
Assessment & connection
We begin with a relaxed, unhurried assessment to understand your child's motor profile, communication history, and what they need to feel safe and supported. This is about building trust — for your child and for your family.
Letterboard sessions
In regular one-on-one sessions, your child learns to point to letters on a letterboard with increasing independence. We start with simple choices and gradually build toward open-ended communication — at your child's pace, always.
Growing independence
As motor skills develop and confidence grows, many spellers move toward greater independence — eventually communicating with minimal support. The goal is always your child's voice, fully their own.
